Photoshop Time :)

Today we were unable to edit on the editing machine. Until a little bit into our lesson. Therefore i decided it would be a good idea to start our title. I exprimented a lot with the different fonts we have recently found. I played arond with the diffewrent colours and diferent was of presenting it.

I finally realised that it would look a lot more "out there" if i left it a smple as possible. As it is a thriller it would be nice if we had a massive title filling as much as the page as possible. The background should cntrast a lot wih the title which will make it stand out so much more. I experimened with a black background with a red title as this would contrast very well. To me that still looked a bit to much for a thriller film. So i just used a white font which stood out a blasted fromt the page. I used a very dissolved look for the title so it was able to pair up witht he film. This was the final outcome i designed and will be using within the opening to our film.

Editing So Far.

We have film loads of footage and we are happy at the moment with what we have. We have finished editing the flashbacks for the start of our opening. We have used different effect to show different conventions of a thriller. In flashbacs the convetions we have used are the mistiness and blurrness of the picture, the whole of the flashbacks are black and white. This shows that they are a memory and not clear. We have also slowed some of the clips down so the audience are able to capture the feeling and then some of them are really sped up. Speeding the clips up shows that she is panicking and confused as to what is happening. We cross cutted and made the flashbacks as best as we could. Personally i think that they are obviously flashbacks and would be shown as memories rather than what is presently happening.

Editing Let Down.

We tried to edit the second part of film but we were just unable to make it flow right. Therefore we are going filming again on monday and taking into consideration how we need to edit.

We are also concerned with the amount of time we are able to be on the computers t edit. As the project is saved to one computer we ca only use it when the computer is free. A group int he year above has the same deadline and are also using the computer at every possible time. We are working around this as much as possible.

Story Board Changing.

Because we changed had a brainwave we changed the actual guidelin of our storyboard. Therefore, we had to change the storyboarding so we were able to pan what will happen. We thought that the camera could act as a servalence camera and it would be watching her every movement. We would speed the time up when editing the clips and use different effects to look more like she is being watched. It will change again but this is the guideline of what will happen. These are the changed storyboards.

Third Time Filming.

The third time we went filming, we decided to redo the first time we went filming as we didn't really achieve anything from the first shoot. We then thought of a good plan of the person who had taken the girl would be watching her through a camera in the top left corner. She will see this and the man would walk into the room. This is when the film would start. Also because of the camera because in the corner, we are going to put a timer in the bottom of the screen when the girl is in the room. When we edit we will have to add this in.

Editing.

After we had enough footage, we went and edited on Adobe Premier Pro. We first of all go to know the program by playing around and using different effects and changing everything around. When i got to know the program well enough i started to edit the flashbacks and used the effect "Additive Dissolve". This made the thoughts look more misty and different. Because the shots were all scattered and not really in a sequence it looks confused which we were trying to bring across. We also went into the woods near our school to film some more shots of the actor waiting and then we came out the other side of the woods to a massive field where we decided to pan around the girl and move into her face where we turned the timing really fast which will be she would wake up and realise where she was.

Second Time Filming.

The second time filming we decided to film the flashbacks. We went to a field called Magpie Bottom and filmed the actor walking up and down the hill, then, in the trees and then we filmed her walking into a group of trees and bushes where she would be "taken". We filmed these shots a few tim to be able to get them right. In the end we had enough footage to be able to go back and edit.

Titles For Our Film.

We have been experimenting withdifferent fonts foro ur title. There are a few we are interested in but we are unable to decide. These are the fonts.

Brainwave.

As Charlotte has a habit of waking up at 4am every morning, she was talking to issy about how annoying it is. She then realised that this could be put into our film. She then spoke to issy about these ideas, and she was like 'you genius!'. from my annoyances, we've come up with a film title and a possible storyline.
Film title;4am.
Storyline;a girl is captured randomly, kept in a small room, and every morning at 4am (see! epic title!) the person who captured her will come into the little room and torture her in some form. The forms of torture will get worse and worse until eventually she is as unstable as he is. To end the film, the girl who has become somewhat crazy, will know that at this certain time, he will come for her and at this final time, she has had enough and attacks him. She leaves him for dead and manages to escape, but being in this environment has messed her up so much she runs to find someone to do exactly the same to. She takes this person back to the same house, and closes the door while the camera moves into her looking psychotically. The film will end with a horrific scream, and a blood spattering on the window and you won't know who's blood it is!
