Last Minute Change.

We have had to make some very important last minute changes to our film. We have found out that the music we have used within our film is not allowed because of copyright. Therefore we ahve now had to make a new music soundtrack for our film. I have used Garageband to do this on an Apple Mac. I can now time the music in with what is happening on screen. I can cut the music when dialogue is used and i can make the music tie in with the mood on screen. When something dramatic happens, such as the screaming, i am able to build this up with different beats and instruments.

At the beginning of the film, i have decided to use a slow soft piano beat. I feel this is what should happen at the start of a thriller film because it will gradually build up tension. This is what i have done. I have chosen to build up different parts of the story by bringing in a new layer everytime something dramatic is going to happen. I have used a piano all the way through the music because i feel that piano is quite classical but also very sugestive of thrillers.

This is a convention of a thriller. The slow music usually suggests something will happen. If the music was more up beat and jumpy the film would not be so jumpy. The music also makes the mind ask questions because the music is so contrasted compared to the actually film. It fits though because of this.
